If you have both a personal and a work Microsoft account, Vinyl may detect the wrong one during setup, usually because the browser has your personal account cached. There's no need to disable or delete your personal account. The steps below will let you connect the right one.
Option 1: Use a private or incognito window (quickest fix)
Private browsing windows don't carry over saved sessions, so Microsoft will prompt you to log in fresh.
Open a new incognito or private window in your browser (Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N / Mac: Cmd+Shift+N; Edge or Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P).
Go to app.usevinyl.com and log in to Vinyl.
Navigate to Integrations and connect Microsoft.
When the Microsoft login screen appears, enter your work account email and password.
Option 2: Switch accounts on the Microsoft login screen
If your personal account is pre-selected on the Microsoft login page, you can switch without leaving the flow.
When Microsoft prompts you to sign in and shows your personal account, click Use a different account.
Enter your work email address and sign in as normal.
Complete the permissions prompt and return to Vinyl.
Option 3: Sign out of your personal Microsoft account
You can clear the cached session manually before starting the Vinyl connection.
Go to account.microsoft.com and sign out of your personal account.
Return to Vinyl β Integrations and connect Microsoft.
Microsoft will now prompt you to sign in, enter your work account credentials.
Option 4: Use a dedicated browser profile
If you regularly switch between a personal and work Microsoft account, setting up a dedicated browser profile for work can prevent this from happening again.
In Chrome or Edge, click your profile icon (top right) and select Add or Add profile.
Set up the new profile and sign in to Microsoft with your work account.
Use this profile when working in Vinyl going forward.
