Vinyl’s integration with Xero Practice Manager (XPM) lays the foundation for a connected and automated workflow between your meeting records and your practice management system. It starts by pulling your clients, contacts, and groups into Vinyl. Soon, it will go even further. Upcoming features will allow you to push meeting notes back into XPM, create job tasks based on conversations, and streamline follow-up work across your team.
What the XPM Integration Does
Once connected, Vinyl will sync:
Clients
Contacts
Groups
This helps keep your meetings, summaries, and transcripts tied to the right records so everything stays organised and aligned with your XPM setup.
While today's integration focuses on syncing client data, the next phase is already in progress. Future updates will support sending notes, action items, and to-dos from Vinyl directly into XPM.
How to Connect XPM to Vinyl
Go to Integrations in the left-hand menu of your Vinyl account
Find XPM and click Connect to XPM
Sign in to the Xero account connected to your XPM. Follow the prompts to authenticate and approve the connection
Once connected, Vinyl will begin syncing your client data from XPM and set you up for deeper, more automated workflows as new features are released.
Frequently asked questions about the XPM integration
Does Vinyl push meeting notes or tasks back to XPM?
Not yet. This is planned for a future update. The current integration focuses on syncing client data only.
How often does Vinyl sync data from XPM?
Vinyl runs a sync once a day. There is no fixed time for the sync, it runs approximately 24 hours after the last sync was completed.
Can I manually trigger a sync from XPM?
Not at this time. Vinyl handles syncing in the background.
What happens if I update client information in XPM?
If you update client, contact, or group information in XPM, those updates will appear in Vinyl after the next daily sync.
Do I need admin access in XPM to connect the integration?
You will need the Connect third-party add-ons permission enabled on your XPM user account. If this is not enabled, contact your XPM administrator. Learn how to enable this permission.
