Understand how email summaries work in Vinyl

Updated today

Vinyl sends a summary email after each recorded meeting, but who receives it depends on how the meeting was created.

As long as the Vinyl bot joins and records the meeting, a summary email will be generated. You do not need to attend the meeting yourself. If the bot is admitted and records the session, the summary will still be sent.

Who receives the summary

The summary email is sent to the person who created the meeting in Vinyl.

This means:

  • For internal meetings, the creator receives the summary

  • Other attendees do not automatically receive it

  • The creator can share it manually if needed

External meetings

If you are invited to a meeting by someone outside your organisation:

  • You will still receive the summary as long as your Vinyl bot joins the meeting

  • This applies even if you did not host or run the meeting

What to check if you didn’t receive a summary

  • Make sure the Vinyl bot was admitted into the meeting

  • Confirm the meeting was successfully recorded

  • Check that you are the meeting owner in Vinyl

If all of the above looks correct and you still haven’t received a summary, contact [email protected] for help.
