You can name your recording before or after the meeting, so it's easy to find later. Taking a moment to name your recording properly will save time when reviewing or sharing it later.
Set the name before recording
The simplest way is to name the meeting before you start.
Tap Record from the home screen
Enter your meeting title
Tap Start Recording
This ensures your recording is already labelled correctly from the start.
Rename before saving
If you didn't name it at the beginning, you can still update it before saving:
Tap Stop Recording
Enter or update the meeting title
Tap Save Audio Recording
Can I rename a meeting from the web app?
Not currently. Renaming meetings from the Vinyl web dashboard after they've been processed is not yet available. This is a known limitation — particularly for mobile app recordings, which may appear with a default or generic title if you didn't name them before saving.
The best way to avoid this is to set the meeting title before or immediately after stopping the recording in the mobile app, as described above.
