If you've turned off auto-recording but Vinyl still joined a meeting, there's a simple explanation β and it's easy to fix.
How recording settings work in Vinyl:
Recording is managed at the team level. If any member of your team has auto-recording turned on for a meeting you're all attending, Vinyl will join β even if you've turned yours off.
This is designed so that your team's meetings are consistently captured. But it can feel unexpected if you weren't aware a teammate had it enabled.
What to do:
Check with your team to see who has auto-recording turned on
If the whole team wants to stop recording a particular meeting type, all members will need to turn off auto-recording β or you can use the manual off toggle directly on the specific meeting in Vinyl
To turn off recording for a specific meeting:
Open the meeting in Vinyl before it starts and use the toggle to manually disable recording for that session. Manual settings always take priority.
If you're still seeing unexpected recordings after checking team settings, contact our support team with the name and date of the meeting. We'll look into what triggered it.
We respond within 2 hours.
