Vinyl automatically joins meetings that appear in your connected calendar. But if you've been invited to a meeting organised by a client or someone outside your team, Vinyl may not join automatically — especially if the meeting was added to your calendar after the event was created.
What you can do
From your Vinyl dashboard, you can manually add the bot to any upcoming meeting using the Add to Meeting option. You'll need the meeting's video conferencing link (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet URL) to do this.
Go to your Vinyl dashboard
Click Add to Meeting
Paste the meeting link and confirm
Vinyl will then join the meeting at the scheduled time.
Things to keep in mind
The meeting must have a video conferencing link — Vinyl can't join a meeting without one
The meeting organiser controls who can join, so if the meeting has waiting room restrictions, Vinyl may be held at the door
For recurring client meetings, you only need to add Vinyl once per meeting series
If Vinyl still doesn't join after following these steps, contact our support team with the meeting link and scheduled time. We respond within 2 hours.
