After a meeting, you can download a formatted PDF of the summary directly from the meeting page. This gives you a clean document you can save, share with a client, attach to a file note, or store for compliance — without copying and pasting anything manually.
How to download
Open the Recordings tab from the left-hand menu.
Click on the meeting you want to download the summary for.
On the meeting page, open Ask Vinyl in the right-hand panel.
Use a one-click action to generate the output you want — for example, a meeting summary or follow-up email.
Once the output appears, click Download PDF beneath it.
The PDF will download to your device immediately.
You can also type a custom prompt in Ask Vinyl — for example, "Summarise this meeting for the client in plain language" — and download that output as a PDF using the same button.
What's included in the PDF
The PDF contains whatever Ask Vinyl generated — whether that's a meeting summary, a follow-up email draft, an action item list, or a custom output you requested. It's not limited to a fixed template; the content reflects what you asked for.
If you need the full transcript rather than an AI-generated summary, you can export it separately — see Export Your Meeting Transcript.
When to use it
The PDF download is useful any time you need to share or store something from the meeting outside of Vinyl:
Attaching a summary or action item list to a client email
Saving a record into your practice management system or client file
Storing for compliance or audit purposes
Sharing with a colleague or stakeholder who doesn't have a Vinyl account
Coming soon: send directly by email
Vinyl is adding direct email integration with Gmail and Outlook. Once available, you'll be able to send any Ask Vinyl output — like a follow-up email draft — directly from the meeting page, without downloading or copy-pasting it into your inbox. This feature is in development and will be available soon.
Tips
You can download any Ask Vinyl output as a PDF — not just the default summary. If you've asked it to draft an engagement letter or proposal, that can be downloaded too.
If you want to copy the content instead of downloading it, use the Copy button that appears alongside the Download PDF option.
Always review the output before sharing with a client. Ask Vinyl works from the transcript — your judgement on accuracy and completeness still applies.
