Vinyl is designed to record your meetings directly — through the desktop app, browser extension, or mobile app. It doesn't support uploading audio or video files from external sources, such as recordings made in Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any other platform.
What you can do instead
If you need to capture a meeting in Vinyl, you can:
Use the Vinyl desktop or browser app to record your next online meeting on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams directly. Vinyl will join the call and process the recording automatically.
Use the Vinyl mobile app to record in-person meetings. The app records the audio in the room through your phone's microphone — it does not record regular phone or telephone calls. Once finished, open the app on Wi-Fi or strong mobile data to make sure the recording uploads.
Use standalone recording — Vinyl can record an in-person meeting without a calendar entry. Start a recording manually from the mobile app whenever you need it.
A note on phone calls: Vinyl cannot record regular phone or telephone calls, including a call placed on speaker. Your phone's operating system stops any app from capturing audio while a call is active, so the call audio won't be recorded.
