Vinyl requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) also called two-factor authentication (2FA), for all accounts to keep your data secure.
MFA is set up during onboarding the first time you sign in:
After verifying your email, Vinyl will display a QR code on screen.
Open an authenticator app on your phone, Google Authenticator and Authy both work.
Tap the + icon in the app and scan the QR code shown in Vinyl.
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm setup.
Once set up, you will be asked for a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in.
Missed the setup step or need to reset MFA?
If you skipped MFA setup during onboarding, lost access to your authenticator app, or have changed devices, your MFA will need to be reset before you can sign in again.
In most cases, your Master Admin can reset this directly from My Settings, no need to contact support. See I'm locked out of my authenticator / can't access MFA for the full steps.
