Recording Microsoft Teams meetings with Vinyl

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Vinyl can automatically join and record your Microsoft Teams meetings as long as the meeting is scheduled in your connected Outlook calendar. Once Vinyl detects a Microsoft Teams link in your calendar event, it will join and begin capturing when the meeting starts.

When will Vinyl join and record Microsoft Teams meetings

Vinyl checks your connected Outlook calendar for Microsoft Teams links. For a meeting to be recorded automatically, it must be scheduled in the Outlook calendar linked to your Vinyl account.

Vinyl will join at the scheduled time and begin recording. Depending on your Microsoft Teams settings, you or another participant may need to manually admit the Vinyl Recording Assistant into the meeting. Check the participant list early in the meeting to make sure it isn’t waiting in the lobby.

Once the meeting ends, the recording, summary, transcript, and action items will be available in your Vinyl account.

If your meeting isn’t scheduled in Outlook

Vinyl won’t automatically join Microsoft Teams calls that aren’t in your calendar. If you need to record an unscheduled meeting, you can still do so by capturing an unscheduled meeting manually.
