Vinyl's permissions control which AI-powered features are available to your firm. They live under Settings → Permissions, and only a Master Admin can see or change them.
What's changed
The tab that used to be called AI Permissions is now simply Permissions, and the individual permissions are grouped by the area they affect rather than sitting in one long list.
Nothing about what each permission allows has changed, and nothing was switched on or off as part of the rename. Existing links and bookmarks to the old tab still land in the right place.
Getting there
Open Settings in Vinyl.
Select the Permissions tab.
Note: If you can't see the tab, you're not a Master Admin on your team. Only Master Admins can view or change permissions.
How permissions work
They apply to the whole team — a permission is on or off for everyone. Individual members can't override it for themselves.
Most default to on — if something is off, someone at your firm switched it off deliberately.
Turning one off hides the feature — the related option simply stops appearing for your team, rather than showing an error.
They're grouped by area — permissions sit under the part of Vinyl they affect, so related toggles are together.
Common issues
A feature has disappeared for everyone on the team
Ask a Master Admin to open Settings → Permissions and check the toggle for that area. This is the first thing to check whenever an option that used to be there is missing for the whole firm rather than one person.
I can see the feature but a colleague can't
That's not a permission issue, permissions are team-wide. It's more likely to be a connection specific to that person, such as their email or calendar not being connected.
An integration shows "Coming soon"
That's different from a permission being off. "Coming soon" on the Integrations page means your team hasn't been enabled for access to that integration yet.
I can't find the AI Permissions tab
It's now called Permissions. Same place, same settings, shorter name.
