Vinyl automatically joins and records Zoom meetings when they appear in a calendar that’s connected to your Vinyl account, either Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.
As long as your calendar is integrated and the Zoom meeting is on that calendar, Vinyl will handle the rest.
This guide outlines what to check to ensure everything runs smoothly, and what to do if a Zoom meeting isn't scheduled in your calendar.
Ensure your calendar is connected to Vinyl
To enable automatic recording, you must connect either your Google or Microsoft calendar to Vinyl. This gives Vinyl visibility into your upcoming meetings so it can join Zoom calls that are scheduled there.
If you haven’t done this yet, follow the relevant steps:
Once your calendar is connected, Vinyl will scan it for meetings and join Zoom links automatically.
Recording a Zoom meeting that isn’t in your calendar
If you need Vinyl to capture a Zoom meeting that isn’t on your calendar, you can launch a manual recording.
To do this:
Log in to your Vinyl dashboard
Click on Home
Enter a meeting title and paste the Zoom link
Click Start capturing
Where to find your Zoom recordings in Vinyl
After the meeting, go to the Recordings section on the left-hand taskbar. Recordings are organised by month, and each entry includes the meeting video, summary, transcript, and action items.
You can also copy the shareable link if you want to share the recording with others.
If your Zoom meetings aren’t being recorded automatically, make sure your calendar is connected and that meetings are properly scheduled in that calendar.
