If a recording you made in the Vinyl mobile app is slow to appear or isn't showing at all, work through these checks in order. Most mobile recordings just need a moment to finish uploading.
1. Check your connection
Mobile recordings upload to your account over the internet. If your phone had weak signal when you finished, the upload may not have completed. Connect to Wi-Fi or strong mobile data, then reopen the app. The upload often resumes automatically.
2. Check Previous Recordings in the app
The app stores not-yet-uploaded recordings under Previous Recordings.
Open the Vinyl mobile app.
Tap Previous Recordings on the home screen.
If your recording is listed, tap it to retry the upload.
Once uploaded, it appears in your account within a few minutes.
3. Check the Recovery folder
If a recording was interrupted (for example the app closed mid-session), it may be in the Recovery section. See What is the Recovery folder in the Vinyl mobile app?
4. Make sure your phone isn't out of storage
If your device is low on space, recordings can fail to save or upload. See managing storage on iOS or on Android.
Stuck on "processing" or "transcribing" rather than missing? See Mobile recording is stuck processing.
Still not there? We can help recover it
Contact us and include: the recording name (if any), the date and approximate start and finish time, and whether the session seemed to end normally. We respond within 2 hours and will do everything we can to recover it.
